Martin Rettig Rookwood Pottery Scenic Plate, circa 1885
Item Details
An early Rookwood Pottery scenic plate with a butterfly and tall grass to the central scene on an orange-brown ground. The plate was hand painted by American artist Martin Rettig (1869-1956). Signed to the underside with his initials, impressed Rookwood stamp with the date.
