A late 19th century American sterling silver flatware service from Gorham in the Versailles pattern. The set features twelve sterling handled dinner knives with plated blades, seven place spoons, eight dinner forks, ten teaspoons, eight salad forks, four cocktail forks, eleven individual butter spreaders, one master butter knife, one sugar shell, one sauce spoon and one small ladle. All are presented in cherry veneer storage chest with a felt tarnish proof liner. The total weight excluding the sterling handled knives with plated blades is 79.110 ozt.
