A pair of 19th century English School oil portraits on panel. These works feature three-quarter bust portrait of English landowner John Lang and his sister. No visible signature was found on the paintings. A descriptive label to the verso of the male portrait provides information about the works and the subjects depicted. The paintings are presented in matching wood frames with a grain painted finish and a gold-tone liner.
Condition
- both paintings have been restored; signs of in painting scattered throughout; craquelure throughout; small spots of paint loss and rubbing along board edges; faint stains and spots of accretion scattered throughout female portrait, especially visible to right central area; some wear in frame includes scratches, nicks, and finish loss scattered throughout.

- measurement of one frame, both same size; one panel measures approximately 12" W x 16" H, both same size.
