A late 19th-century oil painting on canvas by well-listed artist George Cole (1810 – 1883). This work features a rural landscape populated with cows and ducks outside a barn structure. No visible signature was found on the painting. It is presented in a gilt and gesso wood frame with elaborate foliate molding. A metal plate is affixed to the lower center of the frame, identifying the artist of the work.

Condition

- small spots of in painting scattered throughout; some paint loss and rubbing along painting edges; craquelure throughout painting; large chips present to frame molding; additional wear in frame includes small chips, stains, scratches, and finish loss scattered throughout.
