A Confederate States of America second series one thousand dollar bond from Richmond, VA dated March 1st, 1864. The large sheet illustrates the loan with a cartouche of an equestrian George Washington over the twelve rows of thirty dollar bonds (totaling 59) with a six per cent annum on bond No. 6184. The bonds were printed by J. Archer of Richmond, Virginia, printed by Evans & Cogswell of Coumbia, South Carolina, and signed in the lower right by the Register of the Treasury. The sheet is encapsulated in a protective plastic frame.

Condition

- one has been cut from the sheet, torn edges and darkening to the paper consistent with age.
