A large 1984 reverse acrylic painting with applied fabric swatches on plexiglass titled The Age of Flowers by contemporary Cincinnati artist Evelyn L. Liner. The painting features a quilt-like grid made of flowered fabric scrapes outlined with geometric forms in warm shades of red, pink, orange, purple, and navy. The work is signed and dated in black to the lower right corner and is signed, titled and dated to the verso. It is presented without framing, awaiting your choice of presentation; holes have been drilled to the upper corners, presumably for hanging.
Evelyn L. Liner received her artistic training from the University of Cincinnati. Liner typically creates reverse glass paintings, rendered in vibrant colors. Her work has been accepted into a number of juried shows including the Bluegrass Open in Louisville, Kentucky, Summerfair, Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Dayton Museum Gallery Show. Along with juried shows, Liner’s work has been on display at several Cincinnati area institutions such as: Closson’s Gallery; Miller Gallery; and Malton Gallery.
