A pair of Chinese Tang dynasty (619-907) polychromed earthenware standing horse tomb figures. The horses are decorated in an unusual black and red polychrome with elaborate moldings embellishing the saddle and reigns. Unmarked.

Included is a Thermoluminescence Authenticity Test conducted by M.Y. Tso, B.Sc., Ph. D., C. Chem., F.R.S.C., c/o Radiosotope Unit, University of Hong Kong, dated May 5, 1995.

Condition

- one displays a repaired corner to the base; paint loss throughout; overall wear consistent with age.
