A hand-knotted Afghani Rizh Baft wool area rug. The rug is rendered in a palette of merlot, rich brown and burnt orange on a navy ground with ivory accents. A pair of crenelated medallions populate the central field, with ribbon meander and rectilinear compound borders. The rug is finished with a woven kilim strip at each end and knotted warp fringe.
