Vintage Schmidt and Sons Powder Keg

Item Details

A vintage powder keg by Schmidt & Sons. This oak gunpowder barrel includes metal hoops, a side bung hole, a carved wood head marked ‘Schmidt & Sons, Inc., Phila.’ and other hole. The barrel staves are also carved ‘Schmidt’ to one end. The other wood head appears replaced marked ‘Gun Powder.’

Condition

- to fair; lower metal band is loose. Scuffs and marks from use with oxidation to metal staves.
