Chinese Baitong Incense Clock and Brass Censer, 20th Century
Item Details
A Chinese baitong incense clock with a brass censer. The censer features a round shape with handle and floral design to the reticulated top. The powdered incense clock was most likely manufactured during the Republic period (1912-1949) and is a timekeeping device that works by burning the incense through the included seal. The spoon and other implements would be used to lay the incense in the seal. It is marked with a fineness mark to the underside (義豐點銅) but metal content is unknown.
