George II Giltwood Mirror
Item Details
A George II giltwood mirror, circa 1775. The carved wood and water gilded frame has an architectural, broken-arch pediment with a centered, shell-carved, foliate finial. The egg and dart border, which surrounds an early beveled mirror, is ornamented on each side, by fringed drapery and tasseled carving. The base features a foliate carved apron. The verso retains the original back and is wired for hanging.
