A group of four books relating to the discovery of America includes a two-volume set of ‘The Discovery of America: with Some Account of Ancient America and the Spanish Conquest’ by John Fiske (Boston, Houghton, Mifflin, and Company, 1892). Vol I includes a frontispiece engraving of the author. Vol. II includes a large fold-out map. Two additional books include ‘Fusang or The Discovery of America by Chinese Buddhist Priests in the Fifth Century’ by Charles G. Leland (New York, J.W. Bouton, 1875) and ‘America 1355-1365 A New Chapter in Pre-Columbian History’ by Hjalmar R. Holand (New York, Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1946) with dust jacket.
Condition
“Fusang” has spine missing and faded cover. The other books are in good condition.
