A collection of four books by John Milton. Included are “The Poetical Works of John Milton” printed from the original editions with a life of the author by A. Chalmers (London, Bickers and Son, circa 1875), bound in red calf with gilt to cover and spine, marbled endpapers and page edges, with owner coat-of-arms bookplate of Margini Benson and a label of the bookseller in Brighton affixed; “John Milton” (Chicago, M.A. Donohue & Co., circa early 20th century); “Selections from The Poetical Works of John Milton” edited by Albert Perry Walker, M.A. (Boston: D.C. Heath & Co., publishers, 1900) and “Areopagitica”, edited by Edward Arber (London: Alex. Murray & Son, 1869).
Older books show cover wear. Pages of all books are in good condition.
