A mid 20th century oil painting on canvas by well-listed Polish abstract painter Janusz Bersz (Poland; 1925 – 1985). The painting depicts an abstracted composition painted in thick, impasto fields of paint in muted shades of gray, black, and brown. The painting is signed to the lower right and is presented in a wooden frame with a hanging wire.

Bersz attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań after the end of World War II. He is best known as a painter, but was also an established cinematographer and ceramicist.

Condition

- craquelure with several areas of lift. Several nicks and light wear to frame.
