A.S. Packer was an artist and illustrator who studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Académie Julian in Paris. A Life Member of the Society of Illustrators, he worked for the Chicago Tribune, the Daily News, the Hearst Organization, and various ad agencies. Several of his illustrations were also published by Parade Magazine and American Weekly, among other magazines. His work has been exhibited by multiple institutions including galleries in New York City, the Lyman Allyn Museum (Connecticut), and the Cape Cod Museum of Art.
