Item Details

A Victorian walnut and marquetry slant front ladies writing desk or davenport, mid-19th century. It has a pierced brass rail around the back edge, with mixed wood floral marquetry around the sides and top; inside are fitted drawers with birdseye veneer fronts. It stands on a U-shaped base with twisted stretcher and cabriole legs. ‘Made in England’ marked inside on metal latch.
