A 1785 fourth edition two-volume set of books titled “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations” by Adam Smith, L.L. D., Dublin. The first edition was printed in 1775. Bound in calf with laid paper, this book discusses: “Of the caufes of improvement in the productive powers of labour, and of the order according to which its produce is naturally diftributed among the different ranks of the people”, “Of the nature, accumulation and employment of stock”, “Of the different progrefs of opulence in different nations”, “Of syftems of political oeconomy” and “Of of the revenue of the Sovereign or Commonwealth” (sic).

Condition

Covers are loose and show wear and bindings have deteroration. Endpapers and title page are soiled. Remaining bulk of pages are clean with some warping. Marginal writing in Vol. 2, page 307.
