A late eighteenth century, walnut blanket chest, having a framed hinged top, above a dovetailed case with two drawers, on a molded base with ogee bracket feet.

Condition

- overall with various scratches, dents, marks, chips, and abrasions consistent with age and use; structurally stable; top with a heavy concentration of ring stains and marks; the ogee base has been replaced; the hinges have been replaced and reset with repair to mounts; lid with a later, metal support bar; drawer pulls probably replaced; underside of lid with a couple of reinforcement planks; some moisture stains to interior baseboards; back of chest with a layer of cream-yellow paint as well as some minor/former pest damage (worming) with associated marks.
