A 1766 antique hardcover volume of Every Man His Own Broker: or, a Guide to Exchange-Alley by Thomas Mortimer (1730–1810), published by S. Hooper of London, sixth edition. Bound together with A New Book of Interest, a supplement with tables for calculating interest rates. The work is one of the earliest stock exchange guides, and is the first work in which the terms ‘bear’ and ‘bull’ markets appeared. This volume is bound in a full leather hardcover with stamped gilt border lines, and a paneled spine with gilt designs.
