A bowl back mandolin by vaudeville performer Eugene Howard. This mandolin features a unique bowl back body and is comprised of Madagascar wood, rosewood, and spruce wood with celluloid tuning pegs.The tailpiece is marked ‘Pat. May 15-94’ and the interior sound hole is marked ‘Eugene Howard Maker No. 17847’. Howard produced mandolins between 1886 to 1920 before being acquired by acquired by Martin-Wurlitzer.
