6'8 x 10' Circa 1940's Hand-Knotted Persian Abadeh Shiraz Rug
Item Details
A circa 1940’s hand-knotted Persian Abadeh Shiraz rug. The wool rug features a palette of rust and cream with terracotta, butter, and indigo. A centered medallion contains four ram’s head symbols, which are repeated in four medallions in the spandrels. The lozenge shaped field contains an allover design of tree of life motifs, geometric shapes, and florets, framed by a compound border. It has a long, dense cotton fringe to either end and is unmarked.
