A vintage hand-knotted Persian Seneh Bijar rug. This wool pile rug has been made in a color palette of dark blue, blue, light blue, red, light brown, pale yellow, greenish gray, black, and white. The central field features a medallion and spandrels against a background densely populated with a latticed geometric pattern. Surrounding this field is a primary border which displays a floral and vine pattern. This primary border is itself encased to either side by two layers of minor border, each of which are designed with smaller floral and vine motifs. The rug has been finished with natural warp fringe, and it is unmarked.
