A Victorian Renaissance Revival walnut cylinder desk, circa 1865-75, with hand-cut dovetails and pigeon holes in both upper and lower cabinets.
The top features a raised bracketed shelf surround with fretwork spindles to back rail, with burled veneer insets to front of cylinder top, drawer, and base cabinet doors. Inside the top is a pull-out desk shelf with green felt inset, pigeon holes and many small drawers; to the base is a drawer, and two door blind cabinet with divided wood insets. The sides have beautiful inset walnut panels; even the secondary and back panels of the desk are lovely high quality hardwood planks.

Condition

Good overall, minor wear and nicks only. Front edge piece of pull out desk shelf is slightly loose from age; would benefit from a touch of glue to pegs.
