Vintage Duncan Phyfe Style Sofa
Item Details
A vintage Duncan Phyfe style sofa is a mid-century piece of furniture. The walnut frame has a reeded columnar top rail with carved scroll ends, flat monopodium brass claw feet, and curled sleigh arms. The cream colored tufted upholstery is embossed with pastel ivy framed flowers. The sofa comes with two arm covers and eight extra buttons. Duncan Phyfe was an American cabinetry maker in the 19th century. His furniture designs grew in popularity and were continued to be produced after his death, such as this lovely mid-century reproduction.
Condition
The couch is in very good condition. The upholstery has no evident stains and the wood has very few chips (only around the feet). The springs are sinking a bit and there are some stains/crumbs underneath the seat cushion.
