Finely Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz "Garden" Silk Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Tabriz silk rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cream, tan, green, blue, pink-salmon, brown, orange, gray, and yellow. The cream colored field features a pictorial garden design with intertwining trees, an abundance of flowering plants, along with bird motifs in flight and perched throughout. Framing the field is a main tan grounded border with coordinating design elements found in the field with added antelope motifs. Floral meander guard borders, and floret minor borders also help frame the field. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
