A vintage hand-knotted Indian Agra wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, blue, cream, pink, green, brown, and orange. The red hued field begins with an ornate diamond double pendant medallion enclosed by coordinating spandrels with a navy ground color, and an array of split leaf motifs curling throughout. Scrolling vine-work of palmettes, sprays, and lancet leaves also help populate the field. Framing the field are herati borders including a main navy grounded, and ivory grounded guard borders with added cloud band forms. Floral meander minor borders over light blue help frame the field as well. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe with an embroidered stripe. It is unlabeled.
