An oil painting on canvas titled The Old Mill by artist M. Kaufman, dated 1878. The image depicts an Italian landscape bisected by a rushing river next to a water mill, which is surrounded by thick, green canopies of towering trees. A woman wearing a red head scarf walks along a dirt path to the left. It is signed to the lower right and is presented in a wooded frame with gilt gesso moulding and a gold leaf finish. The verso is faintly marked in pencil identifying the title, date, artist name, and a personal dedication.
