- to fair; overall with various scratches, dents, marks, chips, and abrasions consistent with age and use; structurally stable; bookcase and chest are most likely associated (bookcase is dark-stained cherry while chest is walnut/burl walnut); right door of bookcase is missing a handle; walnut base molding of bookcase is probably not original; top of chest appears to have been reworked to accommodate bookcase; velvet lining of center frieze drawer is faded/discolored and with some small tears; back, left foot of chest has been reinforced and caster does not fit properly; a key is included (works on the bookcase door and two of the drawers).
