Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Mehriban Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Mehriban accent rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of cochineal red, sky blue, sapphire, blush, sand, and ivory. It commences with an implied floral medallion with curling lancet leaf pendants. The field is densely populated with complemenrary motifs, and is framed by floral meander guard and primary borders over buff and sapphire. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, a brief kilim skirt, and wool warp fringe. A maker’s label was not found.
