Frank Girardin, known for his landscape oil paintings, was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1856. He attended the Cincinnati Art Academy where he studied under acclaimed artists, Frank Noble and Frank Duveneck. Between 1880 and 1910, he spent his career in Richmond, Indiana as the art director of the Richmond Art Association. He later settled in California, Redondo Beach in 1920 where he lived until his death in 1945.
