A Chinese ornate 19th century free-standing, gilt bronze sculpture of Guan Yu (Guan Gong), a general under the warlord Liu Bei during the Eastern Han dynasty. This finely cast piece features the God riding atop a guardian dragon above the clouds. Boasting of finely detailed armor and a draped robe that is decorated throughout with guardian dragons; slippers embellished with guardian lion faces adorn his feet, and a spear is held in his right hand. There are no discernable signatures or marks to the statue.
