Antique German Belsnickle and Deer Candy Container
Item Details
An antique German papier-mâchè candy container in the form of an antlered deer with Belsnickle (Santa) astride his back. The Belsnickle figure wears a red hooded robe and blue pants with a white rabbit fur beard. The head of the deer removes to reveal a hollow interior that would have held candy to delight children at the turn of the last century.
