Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miró. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.

- to fair; surface wear to painting includes smudging, creasing and abrasions; paper is unevenly cut; torn paper affixed to the upper edge of painting; extensive wear to frame.
