A hand-knotted Persian Sarouk wool palace sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of blue, red, ivory, beige, green, and pink. The deep blue colored field begins with a central double pendant medallion enclosed by layered red and ivory grounded spandrels. It also features flower filled vases, ornate sprays, palmettes, and bouquets scrolling throughout. Framing the field is a red grounded main border designed with a stylized herati border with flower filled vases replacing palmettes, along with added blooms. Helping frame the field are also a number of floral meander guard and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
