A vintage, hand-knotted Mahal Sarouk area rug. The wool rug features a highly detailed central medallion accented with floral sprays on a plain field of cherry red. The designs are rendered in a palette including cobalt, indigo, taupe, cream, magenta, mauve and mocha. Curvilinear spandrels are framed by running water guard border and an unresolved floral primary border, with additional floral motifs outside the border.
