Self-taught, Goodwin first began painting at the age of thirty. He found a place in the Ashcan school and became known for his plein-air Boston landscapes and water scenes. His works are held in private and public collection across the northeast including Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Harvard University, Fogg Museum and more.

- dust and dirt to the paint surface; wear to edges of board; light warping to board.
