A hand-knotted Indian carved wool room sized rug for Ethan Allen. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, green, beige, and brown. The ivory hued field begins with a sculpted medallion infilled with a central bird motif. Urns, floral motifs, butterflies, and fret motifs also help populate the field. Framing the field is a main border designed with birds, floral, and foliate motifs, along with a fret guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled ‘Ethan Allen’, ‘Hand Made in India’.
