Roderick Slater was born in Goodrich, Michigan and studied art at the National Academy of Design School of Art in New York City. He is best known for his mixed media acrylic and assemblage collages, which incorporate a variety of found and original materials and are usually rendered in a grid-style layout that consist of complementary colors. His work has been exhibited in a number of public and private institutions including the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. and the Pratt Graphic Art Center in New York.
