Born in New York City, Rockwell is considered to be America’s most beloved illustrator of the 20th century. An established artist by his teenage years, Rockwell studied at The New York School of Art , The National Academy of Design, and The Art Students League. His first commission was at the age of sixteen, painting Christmas cards, granting him instant success. Three years later, he held the position of art director for Boys’ Life. Prolific, Rockwell is celebrated for his nearly fifty-year tenure producing over 300 covers for the Saturday Evening Post depicting American life and culture.
