Chinese Peking Opera Embroidered Theatrical Warrior Costume

A 20th century vintage Chinese Peking opera dragon and foliate embroidered theatrical warrior costume, hand decorated in orange, yellow, pink threads, metallic gold couching throughout and orange fringe to both the top and bottom pieces to a green silk background. The costume presents a dragon theme throughout with additional flowers, flowering arabesques and pine needle motifs, a meander pattern to both pieces and a longevity symbol in gold couching to the bottom piece.
Condition
- to Poor, silk heavily worn; shattering and ripping; discoloration and staining throughout; repairs with white threads throughout; heavy bleeding of dye; heavy staining to interior of neck.
