John Stobart with Robert P Davis. The first edition book was printed EP Dutton, New York, in 1985.
John Stobart (b. 1929) is a noted British maritime painter who studied at Derby College of Arts and London’s Royal Academy. Stobart established himself as a successful and respected artist in the 1960s and 1970s and began selling paintings of America’s lost and forgotten ports. The proceeds from the sale of Stobart’s works are used to fund the Stobart Foundation, which awards scholarships to young artists.
