Benjamin Trees Sterling Silver Mint Julep Cup
Item Details
A sterling silver mint julep cup from collector, lecturer, and silversmith Benjamin Trees. Trees moved to Lexington, Kentucky, in 1934 and was active until his death in 1965. Although he produced silver pieces at his home on Versailles Road, most of the julep cups with his mark were actually manufactured by the International Silver Company. His julep cups will bear his hallmark, a tree, “Sterling”, and “TREES,” stamped on the bottom. The total approximate weight: 4.375 ozt.
