A la Marquise de Sévigné Enamel and Copper Casket Jewelry Box, 19th Century
Item Details
An antique French enamel polychrome painted casket jewelry box. Each panel of the box is painted in the 18th century manner with landscape motifs. The hinged lid is decorated with a Fragonard inspired courting couple. The jewelry box is supported by a casted decorative brass mounting with four feet underneath. The interior retains the original fabric lining. The closure inside is marked ‘A la Marquise de Sévigné’ and the underside is marked ‘France’.
