Hitchcock Style Painted Wood and Stenciled Chairs, Early 19th Century

A group of four Hitchcock style chairs with a black paint finish, gilt floral and foliate stencil motif to the crest rail, backsplat and seat. The rear stiles, spindled lower back and legs have plain ball turnings embellished with gilt paint. These antique chairs have a single piece saddle seat and box stretcher to the legs. Unmarked.
