A finely hand-knotted Indian Semnam wool room sized rug for Pande Cameron of New York. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, blue, green, salmon, beige, brown, pink, and ivory. The ornately designed red hued field begins with a scalloped double pedant medallion enclosed by indigo grounded spandrels. It also features intricate scrolling vine-work and leaves, along with floral sprays, and palmettes. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded flowering vine border, along with possible grape patterned guard borders, and floral minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe with a kilim skirt, and decorative knots. It is labeled ‘Hand Woven in India’.
