Jacob Petit French Porcelain Urn, 19th Century

A 19th century Jacob Petit French porcelain lidded with a decorative base. The Neoclassical urn features a hand-decorated French landscape scene with commoners alongside a riverbank in a cartouche to two sides and a rose floral pattern to the opposite sides, atop a medium blue field. Gilt accents decorate raised acanthus leaves throughout the vase and to the footed base. A matching blue floral base is included with gilt painted lion heads. The urn and base are signed with the artist’s initials in blue ‘J.P.’
