A hand-knotted Persian Mashhad wool rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of red, blue, cream, brown, pink, teal, green, gray, and beige. The red hued field begins with a pendant medallion enclosed by coordinating layered cream and indigo grounded spandrels, while featuring an allover shah abbasi design. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded herati border, along with floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
