Towle "Old Colonial" Sterling Silver Flatware

A generous set of sterling silver flatware in the Old Colonial pattern by Towle Silversmiths; designed by Lucien D. Cole and produced between 1895 and 2009. The design was inspired by the historic Newburyport area of Massachusetts and features pierced scroll motif terminals, ribbed bowls, acanthus leaf accents and beaded trim. This selection includes one hundred and thirty-eight pieces, including twenty dinner forks, twenty salad forks, twenty dinner knives with hollow handles, thirty-nine teaspoons, twelve soup spoons, nine flat-handled butter knives and three with hollow handles, a hollow handle master butter spreader, a long-handled gumbo soup spoon, four serving spoons, a serving fork and lemon fork, two ladles, two fruit spoons, two pierced nut/bonbon spoons, and a cheese server with stainless steel blade. Each piece is hallmarked as sterling with an approximate total weight, not including items with stainless steel blades, of 133.400 ozt.
