Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Isfahan Najafabad wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of rend, blue, ivory, beige, green, and orange. The red lozenge shaped field is grounded over beige, and it begins with a stepped hexagonal medallion. It features an allover panel style design comprised of floral clusters, rectilinear vine-work, and a weeping willow motif to each corner. Framing the field is a navy grounded main border patterned with similar floral designs, along with added medallions. Helping frame the field are floral meander guard borders, and a floret minor border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled ‘Made in Iran’.
