A hand-knotted Persian Nahavand wool rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of indigo-black, red, cream, pink, blue, brown, and orange. The deep indigo to black hued field begins with a serrated pendant medallion, along with rectilinear vine-work, floral motifs, and animal motifs. Framing the field is a main red grounded cartouche patterned border infilled with with floral or animal motifs, as well as carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
